Annual Children's Health Care Luncheon
The purpose of the luncheon is to bring decision makers from key stakeholders representing public and private organization to:
1. To ensure that all children in Nevada have access to all routinely recommended vaccinations and healthcare coverage without barriers.
2. To highlight the importance of vaccines.
3. To make sure that kids get the health care coverage they need.
4. To promote the value of partnerships
Back to School Week for Immunizations
Each year in August, The Southern Nevada Immunization and Health Coalition (SNIHC) host Back to School Week for Immunizations. In partnership with Vaccine for Children (VFC) providers, schools, public and private organizations, SNIHC coordinate no cost immunization clinics in Southern Nevada. The goal is to make sure school age children and youth are up-to-date on all their vaccinations especially those immunizations required for enrollment in public and private schools.
Bi-Annual Silver Syringe & Children's Healthcare Champion Awards
An award event to celebrate and recognize individuals, public and private health providers and organizations that have worked to promote immunizations and preventative health care access in the community.
Community Flu Project
In Collaboration with Clark County Fire Department, Nevada State Immunization Program, and local VFC providers, no cost seasonal flu shots are provided throughout Clark County Nevada including using Rural Area Fire Stations. The overall goal is to increase access and availability to children, seniors, high-risk populations and others who otherwise would not have an opportunity to received influenza without any barriers.
Nevada Infant Immunization Week & Cover the Uninsured Week
Nevada Infant Immunization Week in conjunction with National Infant Immunization Week NIIW) is an annual observance to promote the benefits of immunizations and to improve the health of children six years old or younger. During NIIW, no-cost and low-cost immunization clinics are held throughout Southern Nevada.
Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Immunization Linkage Project
Since June 2008, SNIHC has been collaborating with Clark County WIC Providers to improve overall vaccination coverage levels for WIC-enrolled children. No Cost immunizations are coordinated for children enrolled in WIC before, during and after WIC appointments. For more information, please contact individual WIC clinic locations.
